About the Photographer
My name is Haley Johnson and I am the human behind the lens (aka HLJ Images, LLC). In addition to photography, I am a freelance web/graphic designer located in Kansas City, MO. In 2022, I decided to pursue my passion of photographing equine portraits and horse shows, officially launching HLJ Images. I have a diverse equine background, having shown in dressage, hunter/jumpers, ranch horse, and all-around events, allowing me to capture each unique equine looking their best!

In 2023 HLJ Images was awarded "Best In Kansas City" in the photography category and HLJ Images has continued to expand, photographing 24 unique horse shows as Official Photographer in addition to working on elite teams photographing events ranging including the Conceal Grand Prix Event photographing members of the US Eventing Olympics team in Aiken, South Carolina, Pine Top Advanced in Thompson, GA, and VRH Qualifying shows in Mason City, IA in 2024 alone.

I was always that weird horse girl in school, and I definitely still am.
Being obsessed with horses, art, and trying every sport under the sun my entire life has led me to develop a passion for multiple genres of photography, but especially all things horses. In the past I have captured everything from high school football pictures, team portraits, horse show photos, ultimate frisbee tournaments, weddings, portraits, and engagement sessions.
I love mixing it up, and I love creating beautiful images that showcase love, dedication, and commitment whether that be love for a human, pet, sport, hobby, and/or everything in between!
